Biography
Warrnambool based Visual Artist, Musician and Song Writer, Claire Chatfield has been making and exhibiting art for over 30 years around Australia and internationally. She has won prizes for her prints and drawings in Victoria & NSW and has taught printmaking, Manga drawing and Art & Up-cycling techniques in Lismore NSW, Melbourne and Warrnambool.
She studied Drawing in the Northern Rivers, NSW.
She has worked as an Art Centre volunteer in outback, Indigenous communities and studied Manga as an exchange student in Japan. Her drawings from Japan were exhibited at Kansai Gaidai University, Japan, Southern Cross University, NSW and the Melbourne City Library Gallery, Vic.
She studied Photography & video making on exchange at Lethbrige University, Canada. Her short animation Second Chance was selected to screen at the Lethbridge International student short film festival.
End of 2023, her solo exhibition Autumn at the Warrnambool Art Society showcased her ceramic, sculptural, drawing and printmaking works. She regularly exhibits at Geelong and Warrnambool and Art Societies and in Melbourne.
She will have a solo exhibition in February 2025 at The Courthouse Gallery in Camperdown, Vic.
